Haverhill II were the visitors for the first home game of the season and on winning the toss invited Walsham to bowl first in a match reduced to 40 overs per innings. Forbes once again started things off with two early wickets and the returning Ali Waugh picked up the wicket of the dangerous looking Davis for 17 taking a very good caught and bowled chance. Bradford and captain Kettle began to build a partnership before the teams were forced off by rain. When the teams returned after an early tea, Kettle was bowled by Ben George and Dovaston soon followed inn almost identical fashion. A partnership between Bradford and Smith then followed but when Bradford was dismissed by Ash Forbes for a very patient 48, Sharpe, Argent, Smith and Morley soon followed leaving Haverhill all out for 135.
Walsham’s reply got off to a flying start with two boundaries in the first over for Bryant and Campbell making a very quick 21 before being bowled by Wilkins. When Bryant was caught behind for Jackson and Owston once again steadied the ship with a good partnership which took the game away from the visitors. Jackson was bowled by a very good ball from Sharpe for 32 and it was left for Owston to seal the win and a half century by hitting a 6 from the last ball of the 21st over.
