Mistley skipper Stevens won the toss and chose to field on another scorching Saturday at Summer Road.
With Lynn and Owston both out for 0 in the first 5 overs Walsham once again had a tough time trying to post a match winning score. Liam Bryant and Oli Jackson built a good partnership which was worth around 40 when Bryant was out caught in the gully. Jackson was joined by Ben George who batted very nicely for 46- being particularly harsh on anything lose from the Mistley spinners. Ash Forbes and Ali Waugh helped to move the score up towards 150 But when they were both out to the bowling of Garwood the runs stopped and the innings was soon polished off by Vickers who finished with 5- 25 leaving 154 for Mistley to chase. Walsham, having failed to use all of their overs ‘gave’ Mistley an extra 7 overs for their chase.
Waugh and Forbes started very well with the ball and after a few streaky boundaries Forbes got his man with Parkes out bowled for 15. Soon after this Day and Stevens were on their way aswell. Churchill was then out bowled by Waugh leaving the two opening bowlers with two wickets each in their opening spells of 12 and 10 overs and the score around 50- 4. A good partnership then followed between Barwood and Hutton until Barwood hit George to Joe Bryant on the square leg boundary who took a good catch. Hutton continued on his way and although Rothon picked up the wicket of Clover and Forbes returned to have Vickers caught behind Hutton and Garwood saw Mistley over the line after 47.2 overs.
