2nd defeat of the season

A below par performance from a full strength Walsham team saw them defeated by a Woodbridge side who jhave slipped from division 1 to division 4 over the last few years.

Skipper Bryant won the toss and chose to bat first but Walsham soon suffered the first set back of the day when Owston pulled a short ball from Crookall straight to square leg to be out for 2. Jackson joined Bryant and they soon set about the Woodbridge bowlers to add 171 for the second wicket. When Jackson was out caught for 68 Bryant took up the mantle and brought up his first century of the season finishing unbeaten on 126 with George and Lynn helping to put on a late burst getting the score up to 227-4, a slightly below par score on a very flat pitch.

Woodbridge flew out of the blocks thanks to some good strokeplay from Nicholls. When he was dismissed by Campbell he had made 72 and taken a lot of pressure off the rest of the Woodbridge batters. Machan made 49 but an unbeaten 43 from Whitlock saw Woodbridge home with 3 balls left of the 45 overs.

A close but ultimately disappointing game for Walsham.
