The Saturday XI had a good start to life in Division 3 with an away win over Tuddenham.
Walsham won the toss and asked Tuddenham to bat first on what looked a good pitch given the recent weather. Walsham good off to good start when skipper Bryant removed both Ward and Titcombe with only 20 on the board. At the other end Forbes bowled a lively opening spell to keep the batsmen on their toes.
First change bowlers George and Rothon did a good job keeping the batsmen quiet with Rothon removing Tuddenham captain R Cross leaving the score at 42- 3. A of 79 between D Cross and Pryke took the home side past 100 but good bowling and fielding meant that Walsham always felt in control.
When Rothon removed D cross for a well made 64 it was to the lower order to take the score up to 168-7 at tea.
Ned Campbell ensured Walsham got off to a flying start with a flurry of boundaries. When the score was at 69 Bryant offered a catch to D Cross who made no mistake. Campbell continued on his merry way until on 52 including 6 fours and 3 sixes he give A Jakeman a return catch. This brought Jackson to the crease and he and Owston with an unbroken partnership of 85 took Walsham to victory with 15 overs to spare.
