Woolpit captain West won the toss and elected to bowl first.
Walsham were off to a bad start when L. Bryant was caught for only 7 and Forbes was also out caught for 5 leaving Barry Lynn and Ben George to rebuild. This they did with Lynn punishing anything loose and George holding up his end until Gibson found some extra bounce to bowl him for 13 and end a useful partnership. Lynn continued his merry way before falling for 58. Baker (42) and Ali Waugh (16) held things together well before looking to open up towards the end of the innings. Only Connor Daly was able to get the bowlers away at the end making 13 including a couple of well struck boundaries. Walsham’s innings closed on 172 all out.
Woolpit’s reply couldn’t have started much worse with Mark Rothon removing skipper West in the second over for 2 but that was to be the only success for Walsham as Father and son Julian Bradwell and James Bradwell knocked off the runs with 9 overs to spare. Bradwell Sr finishing unbeaten on 57 and Jr on 111 unbeaten. Ben George bowled admirably for figures of 15- 5-44-0 but ultimately another disappointing day at the office.
