Bowlers and Jackson star as Walsham visited neighbours Woolpit on Saturday looking to keep a good run of wins going.

Home skipper West won the toss and decided to have a bat. Coombes was out LBW to deCarvalho (10-3-40-5) for 1 in the second over and after a couple of good looking boundaries, Routledge followed in the sixth over giving deCarvalho his second. Bradwell was out in the tenth over also to deCarvalho and West fell to Forbes (9-3-23-2) in the eleventh over. There then followed a period of 6 overs where Holmes in particular and Whiteman played some nice shits to add 32 runs together before Whiteman was out LBW offering no shot to Forbes. Bryant (5-1-15-1) had Holmes caught behind for 27 which included some very good stroke making. Youngsters Flannagan and Lilley then added 41 in 11 overs to take Woolpit past 100 and it took a one handed catch at midwicket by Jackson off the bowling of Waugh (4-0-22-1) to remove Flannagan for 31 and then a couple of overs later a superb catch from Waugh at mid- off to remove Lilley as he looked to push on. Reynolds was LBW first ball to deCarvalho giving him his 5th wicket and when Packer was caught by Joe Bryant off the bowling of Rothon (10.4-3-24-1) for 9 the Woolpit innings closed at 127 all out.

Walsham began the chase with a few quick singles and had 18 on the board when Scarce (2) was out to a fantastic catch by Gibson off his own bowling. Jackson and Bryant then added 74 runs steadily and without taking any risks until Bryant tried to force Lilley through cover and was caught by Routledge for 43. Jackson soon moved to his 50 (49balls, 9x4 and 1x6) with a 6 over mid- on and along with Lynn ensured that no further wickets were lost in the chase. Jackson unbeaten with 66 and Lynn 14.

Another good team effort to get the win and take the 20 points back to Summer Road. An important couple of weeks for the Saturday side as Copdock visit next Saturday followed by a visit to Bury the following Saturday.
